A Wedding Worth Waiting
For | Riggs Washington DC

The Part of Wedding Photography I Love Most
After years of photographing weddings, I still find it remarkable that I get to make a living surrounded by celebrations of love, marriage, and friendship. Every wedding reminds me how meaningful it is to have the people closest to you gathered in one place, celebrating a new chapter of your life.

The photographs matter, of course, but so do the relationships built along the way. This wedding was a wonderful reminder of that.

As the evening came to an end, the couple mentioned how much they were going to miss hanging out with me. I smiled because, after everything we had experienced together, I felt exactly the same way.

My only regret? Not taking more behind-the-scenes photographs of us throughout the journey. We were so busy capturing their memories that I forgot to capture a few of my own. Perhaps that's the beautiful irony of being a wedding photographer.

To my couple, thank you for allowing me to be part of so many chapters of your story. It's been an incredible experience, and I have a feeling this won't be the last time our paths cross.

Until then, I'll always remember this one.

Some weddings stay with you long after the celebration ends. Sometimes it's the venue, sometimes it's the people, and occasionally, it's the beautiful combination of both.

I've always loved photographing weddings at Riggs Washington DC. Between its striking architecture, historic character, and sophisticated interiors, it's one of those venues that seems made for editorial wedding photography. But this particular wedding was special for reasons that went far beyond the setting.

A Love Story in the Making

By the time this couple's wedding day arrived, we were already well acquainted. I had photographed two sessions and their elopement, giving us plenty of opportunities to get to know one another before their celebration at Riggs. What started as a professional relationship gradually became a friendship. We shared conversations, laughter, and experiences that made each session feel less like work and more like catching up with old friends.

That familiarity is something I treasure as a wedding photographer. It allows me to recognize the little things that make a couple unique, from their natural expressions to the quiet ways they communicate with one another. By the time their wedding arrived, we had built the kind of trust that allows beautiful, authentic moments to unfold naturally.

Effortless Celebration at Riggs Washington DC
Walking into Riggs that morning, I was excited to return to one of my favorite Washington DC wedding venues. With its remarkable architectural details and timeless atmosphere, the space offers endless opportunities to create photographs that feel both sophisticated and personal. For this celebration, I worked with a team of three photographers, allowing us to document the wedding from multiple perspectives. We also introduced our new Hollyland communication headsets for the first time, which made coordinating throughout the day incredibly seamless.

Working alongside Marriage and Mimosas, the wedding planning team, and Red Pine Visuals, our sister company, made the experience even better. Everything unfolded beautifully, without a single hiccup. It was one of those rare days when all the preparation, teamwork, and creativity came together exactly as intended.

And when everything runs that smoothly, you get to focus on what really matters: the people, the emotions, and the moments that deserve to be remembered.
